Post a link to a screenshot of your UI while in a raid: I'm so inept at this stuff sometimes! I took the screenshot, found it in my screenshots folder, emailed it to myself, and now it won't open. This stuff really drives me nuts. Anyway, you'd see that I'm running Omen, Recount, Omnicc, Pally Power, Decursive (My computer can handle whatever addons I want to put on, and Decursive helps even a ret pally in some fights) and DBM. I will try to load it again when I get home from work tonight. I've tried to mess with Bartender and XPerl at times in the past but it hasn't caught on for me. The recount in this particular shot showed me in third place on dps at 7077 behind a rogue and. . . I bleive. . . a hunter.


Why do you want to join Cursed with Awesome? Makavelli/Youngmoney sent me a tell ingame on one of his alts that is still on Turalyon and told me a bit about you guys. It sounds like just the thing I'm looking for right now in this game. I want to raid hardcore endgame content. I know you guys are looking for a mage and my friend and I (Hammilcar, he just applied) are looking for a new home. Also, Youngmoney was one dude that Hamm and I immediately felt a kinship with as far as how we want to play the game. Straight up and to win.


List any guilds you were in recently and reasons for leaving: Currently in Symphonia on the Turalyon server. Great people, low drama, some solid raiders. The problem is it is still a bit too casual for me. Also, a couple of very key members of the guild have moved on and it just seems that the replacements aren't stepping up. We have spent a lot of time on ToGC and still aren't past Acidmaw and Dreadscale. I'm as patient as the next guy if I feel like progression is happening. Something about these attempts feels like salmon spawning.

Previous to Symphonia I was in Punched in the Face, an alliance guild on Turalyon. I left there because the leaders were barely ever on and it was, once again, just far too casual to expect great things out of 25 man raids.


List your past raiding experiences, pre-Wrath included. Try to be specific if your experience in a certain zone was limited in any way. If you have experience on another character, who and what class: I've been raiding since level 70 with Eno. I levelled him as a prot pally until level 75 when I suddenly realized that retribution is just way too much fun to ignore. Unfortunately, so have most other pallies, hence you being closed for recruiting hitters like me. I tanked Karazhan and offtanked ZA and Gruul. The highlight of my tanking career was downing the Prince in Kara. In WotLK I've raided all the Northrend content ret and was a part of a very special 10 man team that raided together for a few months. We downed Mimiron before his first nerf, got the Undying title in Naxx before Ulduar came out, and got Champion of Ulduar titles before the band broke up. I've been looking for that kind of drive and success in 25 man and so far have come up empty.


What are your typical playtimes? Can you make 75% of our raids? (Please note that 75% is the bare minimum required. We prefer closer to 90%+) I'm on almost every night. I can certainly make my schedule work to make 90% easy. My job is very 9 to 6 and at the latest 7. I have a social life but it's flexible with easygoing friends and not a lot of responsibility. I'm basically a 15 year old who looks REALLY bad for his age.


What spec do you plan to use for raiding? Explain your talent choices: Ret. You want me ret. You need me on that wall. I'm specced into divine sacrifice to help with some of the raid damage at times, at least until they nerf it in the coming patch to party only instead of raidwide. But see, this works for me, because you'll need to have a ret pally in every group when that happens, you might as well hire me now. . . Otherwise my spec is a pretty straightforward Elitist Jerks approved ret spec.


Why should we take you? Sell yourself. I hit like a Chevy Van. I'm the type of player that is so hungry to be in a group that finds me in the the middle of the pack in dps until I actually get into the group and then I find my competitivenes and will stop at nothing to improve and move up to the top 5 in dps. That said, I know there are some fights (Faction Champs comes to mind) where I know I'm not going to be at the top and that's fine with me, it's about team progress, not my own numbers. You'll find that I'm always the first melee dps that will turn and help when the raid leader calls out that help is needed away from the boss. Let's get the title, the acievement, the progress, the loot. I'm a worker among workers, but when the time comes that I can just stand there and swing away, I'll be damned if I'm going to remain OK with 11th place.

*** PLEASE NOTE: This is REQUIRED if you are a DPS class, and highly preferred for tanks and healers *** Boy, this is another sticky one for me. I followed your thread of "It's fast and easy" to do it yourself and WWS and WowMeter both downloaded a file that my PC couldn't identify. One mentioned Java on the download screen, which I do have, but figured I'd try to download the newest version, and it just isn't working. I can be real computer noob sometimes, guys, what can I say. I tried. If and when I get the screenshot posted tonight you'll see that it's a shot of Anub'Arak and he's getting close to dying and I'm 3rd in dps on recount with 7077 dps. If someone wants to hold my hand and walk me through how to get a WowMeter and make it work I'll do it, no doubt. Otherwise, I'm sure you'll be pleased with my abilities.


Regarding gear and stats, what do you primarily focus on for your character? How do you make your gear choices? I focus on hit cap (Which I'm disgustingly over right now with the pieces I've been getting recently, must replace Pyrite Infuser STAT) and then strength. After that I prefer crit to haste, haste to armor pen, and I like to hover at or around the expertise cap, although I've gone under at times in favor of big numbers elsewhere and not been disappointed. I'm at the expertise cap right now with Seal of Corruption up, but when I hit my seal/libram swap macro it takes me under.

What are your current professions and why did you choose them? I'm a jewelcrafter and alchemist. I switched to alchemy from mining in August when I realized that I can make all the money I need to buy mats by buying epic gems with honor and selling the cuts on the AH along with selling Dragons Eyes from the JC daily. Might as well have 2 hour flasks AND 34 strength gems. Everybody wins!


What is your offspec? Are you good at it and how good is your gear for it? My offspec is prot. I'm WAY out of practice, but did level my toon that way and probably could dust it off in a pinch. As I said earlier, though, if you want me tanking, then I've failed you. My gear is not there at all yet, but I'm working on it.


Do you have a stable computer and connection? (what sort of latency do you play with, are you on a laptop or wireless connection) I have a desktop computer that my dad (HE'S the tech geek in the family) built for me last winter. It's awesome. I know that the little computer screen in the main bar is always green for me except on patch days. As much as I hate Time Warner Cable their connection and service is remarkably reliable. I hardly ever dc. I dced one time on Onyxia a couple weeks ago during the whelps phase, but I think the PC just couldn't handle the number of creatures I was hitting and how hard. I had to be stopped somehow.


Are you over 18? Use this opportunity to tell us more about yourself: I'm well over 18. Double it. I work in the accounting department on an ABC TV show and I love my job. It allows me all kinds of a life outside of work and plenty of time for going to the beach on the weekend and raiding at night. I'm a fan of watching sports, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, South Park and Dexter, but don't worry, these things can be DVRed when it's time to suit up and raid. I recognize that you're full up on ret pallies, hell all of Azeroth is, but I'm willing to wait my turn to run and pal around with a solid group of punchers. Thanks guys. Wow Makk! YOU are a good kind man, and one day they will write songs about you. So, yeah, there ya go. There I am in all my glory, eesh, right around 7th or so on the night. . . 8th? I forget now. Anyway, I really am not out to steal anybody's job. If it comes right down to benching someone that is pulling their weight, well, I don't think I want to be that guy. You know, do unto others and all that.

If you find that there's somebody that's not fitting in personality wise or that is not folllowing raid leader instructions and you feel they need a timeout to go sit in the bad chair, then I'm ready to step in, that's all. I assumed you had a certain number of players on the standby list that are called upon when other people can't show up or have RL emergencies, but benching another player sounds like bad business to me.
